Pagepost vs Claude's built-in publish

Claude can turn an artifact into a shareable link without leaving the chat. For a quick look-at-this it is hard to beat. The trade-off is that the page lives on Anthropic's domain, under Anthropic's rules, and you have no controls over it afterwards. On the Team and Enterprise plans there is a harder limit: sharing an artifact makes it available inside your organisation only, so a client cannot open it at all.

Short answer

Use Claude's own publish for a same-day demo. Use Pagepost when the link goes to a client, needs to keep working, or needs to be revocable.

When Claude's built-in publish is the better choice

  • You just want someone to glance at something today and you do not care where it is hosted.
  • You have not set up any connector and do not want to.
  • The content is throwaway — a sketch, a test, a one-off illustration in a conversation.
  • Everyone who needs to see it is in your Claude organisation and you want access enforced by real accounts. On Team and Enterprise that is exactly what sharing gives you, and it is stronger than an unguessable URL.

Questions

Does publishing from Claude cost anything?+

No, it is part of Claude. Pagepost is also free, so the choice is about control over the link rather than price.

I'm on Claude's Team plan and my client can't open the artifact I shared. Why?+

On Team and Enterprise plans, sharing an artifact makes it available inside your organisation only, and viewers have to sign in with an account in that organisation. Artifacts on those plans cannot be published publicly at all, so it is not a setting you can change. Publishing the same HTML through Pagepost gives you a URL that works without an account.

Can I move an artifact I already published on claude.ai to my own URL?+

Yes. Ask Claude to publish the same artifact to Pagepost through the connector, or copy the HTML and upload it directly. You then have both links and can unpublish the Anthropic one.

Will my interactive dashboard still work?+

Yes. Pagepost serves HTML verbatim inside a sandboxed iframe, so scripts, charts and interactivity behave the same as they do in the artifact panel.
